ALL EYES ON MI'KMA'KI CANVAS TOTE

ALL EYES ON MI'KMA'KI CANVAS TOTE

CA$25.00

Back in November of 2020, we highlighted the protests happening both locally and beyond in support of the Mi’kmaq fisheries. Since then, and for the past 2 decades, the Mi’kmaq of Mi’kma’ki (Nova Scotia) have continued a ruthless battle for the protections and rights to their fishing livelihoods. The threat to this livelihood has cost the lives of many Indigenous folk and children, and with little support from the RCMP or the federal government, the danger only  increases. Tensions have not settled in Mi’kma’ki since the attacks in the fall, and the effects of said incidents are still being felt.

Chief Mike Sack of the Sipekne'katik Fishery said this: “The images, acts of violence, property damage, racism and financial devastation that resulted from the commercial fishermen’s actions toward our people this fall will never leave us - and saddest of all they will never leave our children.”
a continued effort to support the Mi’kmaq, we are extending our project further to raise some funds, with your help. A short run of 25 tote bags with our “All Eyes On Mi’kma’ki'' artwork have been beautifully printed by Rezonance print shop, with all proceeds donated directly to Treaty Truckhouse #2 .
